Depression-era road map of New Mexico.

This official road map of New Mexico was drawn by B.C. Broome & L. Hesch (named, lower left) and issued in 1931 by the State Highway Department. A finely detailed image uses a matrix of three line styles and four colors to distinguish the various classes and surfaces of roads across the Land of Enchantment. National Monuments and Indian Pueblos are noted with triangles and squares, respectively, while an interesting number of additional features are labeled throughout the map. The verso presents a mileage chart, a list of attractions, a highway map of the Western U.S. and New Mexico traffic regulations.
