This informative brochure on Oak Ridge National Laboratory was published in 1978 by the Public Relations Department of the Union Carbide Corporation, operator of the nuclear research facility. A simple aerial view shows an outline of the large campus located on thousands of acres in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Dozens of buildings are identified across the central image and several surrounding insets, including the Animal Facility, Virus Control Laboratory, Electron Spectrometer Facility, and a Decontamination Laundry. Text and photographs on the verso offer additional information on the various operations at Oak Ridge, presumably to assuage an anxious public about the perils of nuclear research.
