This map, dated 1933 and printed in Oslo by Emil Moestue, shows a simplified Norway shaded in yellow; with roads, railroads and rudimentary geographic features depicted. Apart from small figures participating in various activities and a few ships and cars, the primary movement within the image comes in the form of 41 photographs that comprise the border, each of which is tied directly to a location on the map.

Each photo depicts a different hotel that participates in the Norwegian Tourist Hotel Association, the publishing organization behind the distribution of this piece. The country’s natural beauty and varied climate is alluded to within each image, and the verso contains a wealth of text in four different languages that explains these attractions and more.
