This ‘News Commentator’s World Atlas” was published by C.S. Hammond & Co. of New York, probably in 1942 based on the ambiguous borders of the Eastern Front. Nine political maps across 14 pages provide simple geographic overviews of the world, United States, Mexico, Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.
The front cover indicates sponsorship by the National Defense Workers Club, while the back presents an advertisement for Luzianne tea. An interesting artifact from the early days of American participation in World War II, when public interest in geography was at an all-time high.
