Description

This charming look at New Mexico presents the Land of Enchantment in the whimsical pictorial style typical of it’s author, Don Bloodgood. Cartoon characters in a variety of amusing situations provide a depth of entertainment, while the illustrated geographic elements give a sense of New Mexico’s natural beauty.

Various landmarks, historic sites, and and National Parks are also noted within the image. The grave of Billy the Kid, the site of the first atomic bomb test, and Gran Quivira are just a few of the attractions available to the tourist audience. The verso of the map shows numerous color photographs and descriptions of New Mexico’s top locations of interest.

Published in 1968 by Petley Studios and designed to be folded as a souvenir mailer. I can find only one copy available in the OCLC, at the University of New Mexico, and one or two other historic sales records for this scarce issue.
