Description
This scarce and ephemeral sign was published by the Chicago Transit Authority to advertise the ‘New Evanston-CTA Bus Service’, first introduced in 1974. The routes of four different colored lines, numbered 201-204, are boldly presented atop a simple street map that notes high schools, cemeteries, and the grounds of Northwestern University. The Evanston Branch of the Chicago Elevated Lines (‘L’) is shown in black, along with its respective stations. The Isabella station closed in 1973.
