Description
Fly away with Peter Pan and Tinker Bell to Never Never (Is)Land, shown on this map; published in 1952 by Walt Disney Productions. As Peter Pan was the 14th animated feature film from Disney, the company was beginning to perfect the business of merchandising, and the sheet was issued as a promotional item prior to the release of the movie.
The map shows various geographic features like Skull Rock, Mermaid Lagoon, and the Indian Camp, but lacks any recognizable characters. Their absence may relate to the ongoing licensing issues that pushed the release back nearly a year (1952 is even shown in the opening credits). Later maps of Neverland, published after the movie hit theaters, include several characters created by Disney artists.
