As Rand McNally assumed its role as a global leader in map publication near the end of the 19th century, it’s unsurprising to see the company produced its popular atlases in multiple languages. This example, Neuer Familien Atlas Der Welt (New Family Atlas of the World), was issued in 1891 and includes German text alongside the original maps in English. It features detailed color lithographed maps of the United States and the world, in addition to thematic graphs, comparison charts, portraits of historical figures and flags of important nations.
