Description
The ephemeral catalog, marketed ‘For Old and Young’, was copyrighted by the National Geographic Society in 1929 (likely printed in 1930). It presents the prices and descriptions for a variety of products offered by the educational organization, including maps, photographs, reference volumes, prints, and more.
Of particular interest is the New Map of Europe, a ‘masterpiece of modern map-making’, produced in December 1929 and featuring an inset map of important air lines. A ‘Removable Requisition Blank’ is provided as the centerfold for easy ordering. The Great Depression undoubtedly had a negative impact on overall sales.
