National Parks of the United States and Southern Canada
$75.00
Postwar celebration of the great outdoors in the United States.
Description
This lovely map of the United States and southern Canada was designed by artist Maurice Freed for the June 1946 issue of Holiday magazine. The image shows numerous stylized illustrations of National Parks and monuments, while an accompanying index identifies 41 separate locations in the two countries depicted.
Americans were quick to hit the roads in the years immediately following World War II, and the map is reflective of the rapidly increasing interest in the outdoors.
