Color lithographed map of Minnesota from 1888.

Description
This double sided map shows both Wisconsin and Minnesota near the end of the 19th century. Counties are highlighted in soft pastels while the network of rail lines is boldly depicted running to nearly every corner of both states.
In Minnesota, the presence of Native Americans is indicated by reservations, villages, and agencies scattered throughout the northern reaches of the state. Wisconsin’s indigenous populations had been largely removed by the time of publication, with the exception of a handful of scattered small tribes on local reservations.
The map was created by John Alden as part of his Home Atlas and was published in New York in 1888.
