Description

This colorful map of Minnesota was issued to promote settlement across the Land of 10,000 Lakes in the years following World War I. Railroads, electric lines, and the network of state trunk highways (many of which were still under construction) facilitate the movement of people and goods to nearly every corner of the state.

Inset maps show the Twin Cities, Cook County, and the Mesabi Range, rich in iron ore. Text on the verso offers an index of towns and cities and a brief description of the various opportunities for the intrepid settler.

Published in 1925 by the McGill-Warner Company in St. Paul and issued by the Minnesota State Board of Immigration.
