Description
This pleasant little Christmas card was sent from ‘Your Cousin Edward’ aboard the U.S.S. Columbia (CA-74). There is a small map on the front which shows a large area in the South Pacific near French Polynesia, with the Albatross Plateau, Austral Islands, and Society Islands labeled (among others).
The region depicted seems at odds with the image of the ship on the inside of the front cover, which is flying the CINCNELM ensign (Commander-in-Chief US Naval Forces in Europe, the East Atlantic, and the Mediterranean).
