Description
This comprehensive guide to Ohio provides everything an intrepid motorist would need to traverse the roads of the Buckeye State in 1917. A large folding road map shows the major transportation routes and numerous insets of heavily populated counties like Cuyahoga (Cleveland), Hamilton (Cincinnati), and Franklin (Columbus). The ‘Main Touring Routes’ are highlighted in red and individually numbered between 1 and 221.
The accompanying 68 page guidebook provides a succinct summary of each numbered route, along with a description of the road’s surface, distances, and any settlements along the way. It also contains 20 large scale maps of Ohio’s largest urban centers, several blank pages for memoranda, and a lovely contemporary advertisement for Mendenhall’s Road Maps and Guides – “A Good Map and Guide is One Half the Equipment for the Tour.”

Condition: A-
Condition Description: Folding map measuring approximately 39.75" x 28.5" and is affixed to original grey pictorial paper covers. Creased and slightly worn along fold lines, with a few spots of separation at fold intersections. Otherwise, the map is in extremely good condition, and features bright colors on a crisp sheet. Accompanying 68 pp. guidebook is present, but has ripped loose from the wrappers and a large chunk of the front page remains behind, obscuring the title.
