[Marvel Super Heroes Campaign Map]

Mapping the Marvel Universe of the 1980s.

This double-sided reference map was published by TSR, Inc. in 1984 under license from the Marvel Comics Group. It was issued to accompany the first edition of Marvel Super Heroes, a tabletop role-playing game in which players could take the role of superheroes like Captain America, Spider-Man, and the Fantastic Four to protect the world from evil villains.

One side of the sheet shows the City (presumably New York), labeling important locations like the Fisk Building, St. Arbogast Hospital, and Roxxon Corp. Headquarters. The verso provides several large-scale plans of various building interiors.

Tactical Studies Rules (TSR) was founded in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin in 1973 by Gary Gygax and Don Kaye to publish their wargames, quickly pivoting to focus on their groundbreaking tabletop role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons. The immense success of D&D in the late 1970s transformed the small company into a major force in the hobby game industry, leading to rapid expansion, a wide range of new products, and the launch of iconic fantasy campaign settings like Dragonlance, Ravenloft, and Forgotten Realms.
