The assortment of maps was designed and printed by the Poole Brothers firm of Chicago in 1919. It was issued by the Pacific Steamship Company, popularly known as The Admiral Line, to promote its operations after the conclusion of World War I.
The central map shows the West Coast of the United States, highlighting company headquarters in San Francisco and noting extensive service throughout the Pacific Northwest. The line extends north to Alaska in the images immediately adjacent. Insets on the left side of the show the areas around Puget Sound, Humboldt Bay, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
Throughout the sheet, federal wireless stations and lighthouses/light ships are identified. Red overprinting indicates lines of transportation, locations of interest, and ports of departure. Text and photographs on the verso highlight the luxurious accommodations and scenic destinations of the Pacific Steamship Company.
