This eye-catching map of South America was published in New Jersey by the General Drafting Company on behalf of Esso Oil. One side presents a stunning pictorial depiction of the continent, highlighting primary industrial exports, agricultural products, historic sites, recreational opportunities, and more.

Accompanying text (in Spanish) describes the various countries in some detail. The verso presents a transportation outline of South America as well as a physical map of the continent. The map is emblematic of ongoing efforts by American multi-national corporations to extend operations into foreign markets during the 20th century.
