This striking aerial view of the University of Wisconsin and the surrounding area in Madison offers a welcoming illustrated overview of the campus. Over 120 different locations of interest are numbered throughout the image and identified in the accompanying indices, helpfully organized both numerically and alphabetically. Accompanying photographs showcase many of the university’s highlights, including Camp Randall Stadium.
Signed and dated Jerred ’48 in the lower right corner – this might reference Jack Jerred, a University of Wisconsin-Madison art student with a named 1948 photograph in the collections of the Wisconsin Historical Society. The map was sponsored by The First National Bank of Madison; the West Branch location is circled in the lower right of the image.
