Milwaukee in the early 20th century.

Description
This finely detailed map of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was published in Buffalo by the J.N. Matthews Company in 1904. It shows the location of prominent buildings, places of amusement, churches, hotels, and railroad depots. Concentric circles with radii increasing in one-mile increments are shown emanating from the courthouse.
Typical of atlas maps published during this period, the image foregoes flashy aesthetics for utilitarian design. Of note are the significant industrial works depicted; including canals, waterworks, factories, and railways.
