The focal point of this promotional brochure of Newport Beach, California is a fantastic panoramic map of the coast from the Santa Ana River to Corona del Mar. The image is attributed to artist Claude Putnam, Sr. and was originally drawn circa 1941. Colorful illustrations highlight many of the region’s recreational and leisure activities, while huge expanses of farmland and orchard groves reflect the largely agrarian nature of Orange County (and the origin of its name).
The bottom of the sheet presents an inset map of southern California and several photographs, with several more found on the verso. Published in 1949 by the Newport Harbor Chamber of Commerce.
