This utilitarian map brochure of Napa County, California, combines local small business promotion with a handy transportation reference. Street plans and indices of Napa, Calistoga, and St. Helena are accompanied by numerous advertisements for retailers, professional services, and more. Various locations of interest and geographic features are labeled.
The map was copyrighted in 1994 by the Merchant Maps Division of Mass Marketing, Inc. At the time of issue, Napa was suffering from an aphid infestation that was devastating the local wine industry. The outbreak hit its peak in 1993-1995, when as many as 50,000 acres (two-thirds of the total viniculture) had to be completely torn out and replanted.
