Description
This color lithographed map was published in Chicago by John F. Waite in 1894 as part of C.A. Gaskell’s Family and Business Atlas of the World. It shows the New York borough of Brooklyn in some detail, with a particular emphasis on transportation routes.
Elevated rail lines, steam railroads, and horse drawn lines are all noted according to the legend below the titles, which also identifies the three numbered buildings as City Hall, Municipal Buildings, and the Academy of Music. Ferry routes across the East River are also labeled.
