Map of Asgard

The first appearance of a map of Thor’s homeworld, Asgard, in comic book form.

Asgard, home of Thor, the Valkyries, and other legends of Norse Mythology in the Marvel Comics Universe, is located among the Nine Realms; distant inhabited worlds connected via a powerful network. This interstellar pathway, known on Asgard as the Bifrost, can be seen on the left side of this map, which extends to include the adjacent realms of trolls, elves, and giants. An inset map shows a section of subterranean territory from the city’s catacombs known as the ‘Inner Kingdoms.’

According to the recent movie canon, Asgard was destroyed by Surtur during Ragnarok, but a particularly memorable quote by Odin stated, “Asgard is not a place. It never was. This could be Asgard. Asgard is where our people stand.”
