Description

This fascinating volume was published by Milo Doty in New York in 1857 to accompany Morse & Gaston’s A New Map of Our Country – Present and Prospective (not included).

The booklet aims to supplement the cartographic data provided by the map by offering a wealth of information on history, political organization, settlement patterns, local industries, demographics, and more. It covers the United States and territories from coast to coast, as well as British North America, the West Indies, and Central America. A slightly earlier version of the wall map is available for sale here.
