Description
This eye-catching pictorial map was illustrated anonymously and published in 1971 for the opening year of Magic Mountain in Valencia, California (today’s Six Flags Magic Mountain). The main entrance (lower left) opens into a colorful world filled with rides, vendors, and entertainment for the whole family. Major attractions include the Log Jammer, Sky Tower, Gold Rusher, the Chevron Grand Prix, and the 7 Up Dixi Cola Showcase Theater, which featured Barbara Streisand as the headliner! Locations of guest amenities (restrooms, first aid, lost & found, telephones) are noted throughout, according to the legend in the lower right. Though the company briefly licensed the use of Looney Tunes characters from Warner Bros., they, unfortunately, do not make an appearance within the image.
