Description

This vibrant overview of Los Angeles highlights the city’s local businesses, commercial architecture, and bustling economic landscape. Charmingly illustrated figures can be seen engaged in a variety of activities, from sitting in traffic jams to enjoy a variety of leisure activities along the Pacific coast.

Text outlining fictional conversations accompanies many of the drawings, adding another element of variety and humor. Pictorial topography gives an exaggerated impression of the regional surroundings, including the famous Hollywood sign and the Mt. Wilson Observatory.

The view was drawn by artists Swaena Lavelle and Barbara Spurll on behalf of Unique Media in 1979 and published by Archar, Inc.
