A striking map of New York City issued for the 1939/40 World’s Fair.

This eye-catching map of New York City pinpoints the location of nearly two dozen hotels and apartment buildings owned and operated by The Knott Corporation. The brochure was issued to capitalize on the hordes of tourists descending on the city for the 1939 World’s Fair, held in Queens’ Flushing Meadows Park. The complex network of local transportation systems is emphasized throughout, while text and photographs on the verso advertise the variety of luxurious accommodations offered by Knott Hotels, both in New York and elsewhere.

Copyrighted in 1939 and published in New York by the Knott Corporation. At least one other similar example (replacing the blue with mint green) was published in 1941.
