Description
The Hotel du Palais D’Orsay was a lavish Parisian hotel housed inside the Gare d’Orsay railway station, a massive transportation terminal constructed for the Exposition Universelle of 1900. Designed by Victor Laloux, the hotel was a Beaux-Arts masterpiece. It was situated adjacent to the Seine, directly across from the Louvre and Tuileries Palace, and was legendary for its elaborate limestone facade and opulent interior.
This relatively straightforward map of Paris was issued by the hotel after its heyday, likely sometime in the 1950s. The location was still ideal – nearby attractions include the Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, and Notre Dame. Issued as the centerfold to a room card (Apt. 565, to be exact). Lists of embassies, churches, and general traveler information are provided on the verso (in English).

Condition Description: Small pocket map, double-sided, folded and stapled to stiff paper covers - intended to accompany a key to a hotel room. Staples are Slightly rusted and there is faint toning and wear, including some light wrinkling and tiny spots of separation along folds. Handwritten annotations in blue ink on the covers, but the map is not affected. Good to very good condition overall.
