Description

This somewhat unusual volume was published in Geneva in 1920 as an accompaniment to a larger scientific report by the authors (sadly lacking). It provides a detailed overview of the platinum deposits across various regions across the Ural Mountains in western Russia; with five folding geological maps and eight diagrams of mining structures and related machinery.

Condition Description: Atlas only. Ex-libris from the John Crerar Library in Chicago, with bookplate on front endpaper and rubberstamps throughout. Title page/table of contents (stamped) followed by 5 folding maps and 8 folding diagrams - all color and in varying sizes (several loosely bound). Collectively all bound in full red cloth with embossed (and heavily soiled) spine. Contents show heavy creasing, scattered soiling, and a few small closed tears where bound and along the edges. Good condition overall.
