Description
This farm ownership map of Lawrence County, Illinois was compiled and published by A.A. Arnold of Vincennes, Indiana in 1939. Tidy lettering identifies the primary property owners throughout the nine townships, bisected by U.S. Highway 50 and Illinois Route 1. Ditches and irrigation channels are also shown. The right side of the page presents a list of rural schools, facts about Lawrence County, and a brief description of the survey system.
An unlabeled feature of interest is a railway bridge crossing the Wabash near St. Francisville. The Wabash Cannonball Bridge, known locally as Purple Head Bridge, is an acclaimed haunted historic site.
