Latin America from the perspective of the ‘other’ America.

This selectively ‘educational’ map bears no maker’s markings or publishers imprints, but it was probably issued by an American company during the turbulent decade of the 1970s. The simple outline shows a political overview of Latin America, labeling nations, capitals, major cities, and notable geographic features. Dozens of stickers have been carefully applied within outlined boxes all over the sheet.

These show a decidedly Western perspective of Latin America, with a heavy emphasis on industrial and agricultural products and tourist destinations. Important persons include Christopher Columbus, Henry Morgan, and Sir Francis Drake.
