Description

This is (allegedly) a copy of the last will of Adolf Hitler, alias Adolf Schicklgruber. Declared publicly because of the “possibility of a fatal accident known as assassination,” the testament is dated VERY SOON and contains over a dozen satirical clauses aimed at various individuals and groups. These poke fun at Hitler’s sexuality, inept political decisions, and his cronies and allies.

Notable examples include; “To France, I leave all the beautiful Mademoiselles in occupied Paris. I was NEVER the one for girls.” “To Mussolini, I leave my Chaplin mustache, which he is to make into a toupee for his ivory dome.” and, “To the Jews, I leave a new Holiday which they will celebrate annually. The whole world knows I was KIND to them but they somehow did not seem to appreciate it.” This last entry is particularly unfortunate, as it reflects the widespread contemporary knowledge of German anti-Semitic policies.

The leaflet was published in Amsterdam, New York by the Amsterdam Printing & Lithograph Company. Copyrighted 1942 by D.R. & Co. An advertisement for General Electric Motors can be found on the verso.
