This large color lithographed folding map was published by the Geographia Map Company of New York around 1943. It was intended for sale and distribution to a general American audience at a time when few amid the public were intimately familiar with the details of the Pacific Theater.

Two large color maps show the political organization of the main islands of Japan and the composition of its empire, while insets show Oceania, the Philippines, and South East Asia. A large map on the verso provides a similar overview of the entirety of Asia, though only in black and white.
