First settled in 1836 and incorporated as a city fifty years later, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin is situated on the shores of Geneva Lake, about 65 miles northwest of Chicago and 40 miles west of Milwaukee. This poster map of the popular resort town was published to celebrate its 100th anniversary and provides an illustrated overview of various local businesses.
Buildings are illustrated in profile alongside advertisements with names and phone numbers. Insets near the bottom of the page include neighborhoods that wouldn’t otherwise fit within the image, while a brief history is provided in the upper left.
