The Masters of the Universe franchise, created by Mattel in the early 1980s, began as a successful line of action figures inspired by an adventure-packed blend of fantasy and science fiction. The fight between He-Man and his nemesis, Skeletor, for control of the Planet Eternia grew into a franchise anchored on a popular animated series, with comic books, video games, and more.
This Masters of the Universe map was published by Mattel, Inc. in 2013 to promote their new line of toys – a throwback to the 80s origins. The large cosmic chart presents the universe of Masters of the Universe, with over two dozen planets individually illustrated and labeled throughout the galactic image. Of notable interest are the Horde World, Eternia, and Earth, along with several space bridges and warp gates that facilitate speedy interstellar travel. An inset in the lower right presents Eternia and her moons (five total).
