Predicting the arrival of killer bees in North Ameri

Description
This ominous gelatin silver print was created by the New York Times for a story in July, 1982 about the migration of Africanized bees from Brazil across South and Central America. The map shows the gradual growth beginning with the invasive species’ introduction in 1957 and predicts their arrival in the United States between 1988 and 1994.
The forecast was spot on – killer bees were first found in Texas in October of 1990. Fortunately, they have not yet spread as far north as shown on the map.
