Description
Take an off-road trip back in time with this wonderful reproduction of A.F. Kibbe’s seminal map of the San Juan Gold Region, published a century after the original. Modern roads and Jeep trails have been overlaid in red and blue atop the late 19th century base map, allowing for a direct comparison of old and new routes.
Mining camps have also been added, with a corresponding index in the lower right. The verso provides a brief historical summary, 100 Years in the San Juan Mountains of Southwestern Colorado.
Text and map designed by Jack Benham in 1981, revised to 1982. Published in Ouray, Colorado by Bear Creek Publishing Company.
