Description
This fun little game board was published near the turn of the century by Jan Vlieger and printed in Amsterdam by Senefelder. It was distributed as a premium for newspaper subscribers in the Netherlands and advertised as a ‘cozy winter evening game’ on the accompanying envelope.
Using dice (not included), players would attempt to navigate the board as either a cat or a mouse in an attempt to reach the final square and take the pot. Landing on certain squares or jumping over one’s opponent results in varying effects – usually the exchange of tokens or chips. A list of fourteen different rules is provided (in Dutch) near the bottom of the board.
