Description
This road map of Israel, issued at a scale of 1:500,000, was published in Tel-Aviv in 1962 by the Survey of Israel, then part of the Measurements Department in the Ministry of Labor. Insets in the upper left show the urban centers of Haifa, Jerusalem, and Tel-Aviv.
A legend at the bottom of the sheet identifies the various symbols used for police stations, synagogues, gas stations, ancient ruins, water sources, and other relevant infrastructure. Here are also the lines used to denote different classes of roads (red/black) and international boundaries/demilitarized zones (green).
