Indiana Beach Souvenir Map

This delightful reminder that “there’s more than corn in Indiana!” shows us one of the state’s regional amusement parks, which was in operation for nearly 100 years, until 2020. What originally started as a small lakeside bath house eventually developed into a park encompassing nearly fifty rides over dozens of acres. The author has several fond memories of visiting the park as a child, and one terrifying memory of a chair swing that flung its riders above the waters of the adjacent lake (not pictured on the map). The lighthearted feel and cartoonish style of the map closely reflects the attitude one felt while in the park. The verso is an outline copy of the same image, doubling as a souvenir coloring poster. Indiana Beach, “The Riviera of the Midwest” will be sorely missed by residents in northern Indiana and visitors from throughout the Midwest.
