This fascinating pair of 17th-century maps shows a large region across southeastern Asia, including portions of India, China, Indonesia, and much of the massive peninsula in between.

The left side shows the northern part, bordered approximately by the speculative Lake Chiamay in the north and the Gulf of Siam in the south. The adjacent image continues the southward coverage into the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and the adjacent islands. A fascinating variety of settlements and geographic features are labeled throughout both maps, credited to Nicholas Sanson under the titles.
