The firm, heavily affiliated with Standard Oil of New Jersey, issued a bonanza of promotional period in the postwar years, mostly associated with travel and tourism. This mix of education and advertising presents a series of six shaded relief maps that highlight the world’s topography. Small vignettes identify major industries and landmarks, while accompanying text offers brief descriptions and a geography quiz game. An advertisement for Atlas Perma-Guard Anti-Freeze is a reminder that commercial interests underwrote the work.
