Description

Maps can be quite useful in helping someone find their way, sometimes in an emotional sense more than a geographic one. That’s how I interpret this poem, letterpressed by hand into a segment of a vintage navigational chart of the Hawaiian Islands.

Molokai, Lanai, and a portion of Maui are included within the image, along with an 11-line, 2 stanza poem by Tom Clark (1941 – 2018), an American poet, novelist, and artist. Probably a unique piece, created and signed by Tom Clark c. 1983 while he resided in Santa Barbara, CA.
