Description
“The problems that confront the world community are too great for us to continue to withhold information or resources that could save us all. This is, in the final analysis, the direction we as human beings will go; we are, in fact, on a spaceship of our own.” – Introduction.
This incredibly useful (and surprisingly drug-free) how-to guide to hydroponics was authored by Steve Fox and self-published in 1971. Fox was one of several practical theorists who believed that humanity’s problems (environmental change, nuclear apocalypse, extreme poverty) could be solved through collective action by all (or the majority) of Earth’s resident citizens. The front cover, showing Buckminster Fuller’s Dymaxion Map, is highly emblematic of these ideals.
