This incredibly useful (and surprisingly drug-free) how-to guide to hydroponics was authored by Steve Fox and self-published in 1971. Fox was one of several practical theorists who believed that humanity’s problems (environmental change, nuclear apocalypse, extreme poverty) could be solved through collective action by all (or the majority) of Earth’s resident citizens. The front cover, showing Buckminster Fuller’s Dymaxion Map, is highly emblematic of these ideals.
