Description

This lovely aerial view of Manhattan, looking north, was published in 1957 by the Hudson River Day Line. Dozens of points of interest are clustered around 20 different areas – all accessible by the company’s sightseeing routes. Guided tours departing from Pier 81 are offered by a ‘highly trained lecturer hostess.’

Further details and rates can be found on the verso. Despite the claim that the Hudson River Day Line was ‘World Famous for Over a Century’, the company began operations in 1863, went out of business in 1948, was reacquired in the early 1950s, and was sold again in 1962.
