Turn of the century pamphlet advertising the Monterey Peninsula in California.

Description
This charming little pamphlet uses all the available hyperbole to extol the virtues of visiting the Monterey Peninsula in California. And what’s a visit to the Peninsula without staying at the Hotel del Monte?
The area is now best known for Pebble Beach Resort and Golf Links, but a century ago the hotel was one of the most exclusive on the continent. Visitors could take a carriage along the famous 18 Mile Drive (since shortened to the more colloquial 17 Mile Drive), enjoy the wonderful scenery, fish, take a dip in the bathing pavilion or relax in the vast resort gardens.
Maps show the local railroad connections to San Francisco and Santa Cruz, as well as a more detailed guide to the peninsula. Photographs show a variety of scenes, from a Chinese abalone bazaar to the hotel ‘four-in-hand’ carriages used to escort guests along the 17 Mile Drive.
