Description
This relatively simple map of Hawaii foregoes many of the archipelago’s most distinctive geographic features and tourist attractions for a basic transportation outline and easily legible toponyms. The real emphasis is on the state’s numerous surfing spots, dozens of which are identified and described in detail.
Six of the eight islands contain place names that correspond to their respective indices in the surrounding Pacific Ocean (Nihau is private and Kahoolawe is off-limits). Insets in each corner show Waikiki Beach, Honolua Bay, the North Shore of Oahu, and Hanalei Bay – some of the best places to hang ten on the planet. A border of photographs gives some indication of the quality of surfing available to those adventurous enough to paddle out.
