Description

How does a prospective tourist or outdoor enthusiast pick one of Minnesota’s 10,000 Lakes in the early 1920s? This promotional brochure issued by Dickson & Gillespie, Inc. of Minneapolis, can certainly help. It showcases Gull Lake as the finest among many of Minnesota’s tranquil bodies of water – perfect for fishing, camping, boating, or just relaxing at the beach.

Photographs and descriptive text are accompanied by three persuasive maps that highlight the primary roads from the Twin Cities, the local transportation network, and ‘Respective Distances of Important Cities.’ A fold-out map of the Gull Lake Shores development is also included, noting lots for sale by Dickinson & Gillespie, “planners and developers of high grade subdivisions.”
