Description
This fun pictorial map of the Mississippi Gulf Coast focuses on the cities of Gulfport and Biloxi, plus several other small resort towns in the area. Dozens of local small businesses are illustrated and advertised throughout the image, ranging from the Bayou Bernard Ballroom to the Dinner Bell Restaurant. Caricatured figures are engaged in a variety of vacation-based activities, while several vignettes incorporate a good sense of humor, including declaring a final winner in the cola wars (Pepsi). Major geographic features are named, but most attempts towards accuracy are sacrificed in favor of artistic design.
The map was copywritten in 1986 and published by the Biloxi-based Advertising America, Inc.
