Description
Issued by The Press and Publicity Department on the eve of the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis, this double-sided pocket map would have served as a handy reference as well as a commemorative souvenir for the throngs of visitors (nearly 20 million attended).
One side shows the grounds of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, held between April 30th and December 1st in Forest Park. Bright colors and easy-to-read labels identify the various buildings, attractions, transportation options, and exhibits available across the fairgrounds. The verso shows a photograph of the Festival Hall, a small street plan of St. Louis, and information on accommodations.
